Roberto and Reynaldo Martino: The Dynamic Duo Behind T-Vice’s Success

Miami, FL – Brothers Roberto and Reynaldo Martino have been instrumental in shaping the Haitian music scene through their band, T-Vice. Founded in 1992, T-Vice has become a cornerstone of compas music, blending traditional Haitian rhythms with modern influences.

Early Life and Musical Heritage

Born to Robert Martino, a celebrated guitarist of the Haitian band Top Vice, Roberto and Reynaldo were immersed in music from a young age. Their father’s legacy inspired them to pursue their musical ambitions, leading to the creation of T-Vice as a successor to Top Vice. The band’s name reflects this lineage, with “T-” derived from “Ti’,” a Creole term meaning “small,” signifying “Small Vice.”

Formation and Evolution of T-Vice

In 1992, the Martino brothers and friends James Cardozo and Gérald Kébreau established T-Vice in Miami, Florida. Roberto was the lead singer and guitarist, while Reynaldo was the band’s maestro and keyboardist. Their innovative approach incorporated reggae, merengue, flamenco, and rock elements, setting them apart in the Haitian music industry.

Musical Achievements and Collaborations

T-Vice’s unique sound has garnered international acclaim, leading to performances across the United States, Caribbean, and Europe. The band has collaborated with notable artists, including Haitian rapper Wyclef Jean and Jamaican musician Buju Banton, further enriching their musical repertoire.

Recent Endeavors

As of 2024, T-Vice continues to captivate audiences with new releases and dynamic performances. Roberto and Reynaldo remain active on social media, engaging with fans and sharing updates on their musical journey. Roberto, known as the “Chef Revolution,” is active on Facebook, while Reynaldo shares insights and behind-the-scenes glimpses on his Instagram account.

Legacy and Influence
