Joé Dwèt Filé: The Sensational Voice of Afro-Caribbean Love Songs

Joé Dwèt Filé, born on March 12, 1995, in France, is a French singer-songwriter of Haitian descent. His music seamlessly blends Afro-Caribbean genres, particularly Zouk and Kompa, with contemporary R&B influences.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Growing up in a religious household, Joé’s initial exposure to music was through his church, where he began singing and playing instruments. This early involvement nurtured his passion for music and set the foundation for his future career.

Career Development

Joé first gained recognition as a composer and songwriter, crafting tracks for prominent artists in the Afro-Caribbean music scene, including Stony and Axel Tony.  Seeking to express his artistic vision, he co-founded the group Lespada, which quickly garnered popularity on YouTube with its unique sound. In 2018, Joé embarked on a solo career, releasing his mixtape “#ESOLF (Et Si On Le Faisait),” which achieved significant digital sales.

This success was followed by his debut album, “À Deux,” in 2019, featuring tracks that delve into themes of love and relationships. The album’s title track narrates the story of a man attempting to win over an independent woman. Continuing his musical journey, Joé released the EP “Eira” in 2020, which includes the single “Tu me mens,” exploring themes of trust and infidelity. That same year, he collaborated with Ronisia on the hit “Jolie madame,” which reached the top 25 of France’s most-listened-to singles.

Recent Achievements

In 2021, Joé unveiled his second studio album, “Calypso,” featuring collaborations with artists like Naza and Fally Ipupa. His innovative fusion of traditional Haitian sounds with modern music has expanded his fan base and played a pivotal role in bringing Haitian music to a broader audience. In 2024, Joé’s single “Fè m Voyé,” performed entirely in Haitian Creole, was awarded the prestigious Gold Single certification in France by the National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing (SNEP). This milestone marked the first time a Haitian artist achieved this distinction in France with a song performed entirely in Haitian Creole.

Joé Dwèt Filé’s dedication to his craft and ability to blend diverse musical influences continue to solidify his position as a prominent figure in the contemporary music scene.
