Smoye Noisy Presses Forward with “Lekòl Lavi” to Honor Late Son

Smoye Noisy Turns Personal Tragedy into Purposeful Mission with “Lekòl Lavi”

Smoye Noisy, the renowned Haitian radio host, journalist, actor, and author, has transformed a devastating personal tragedy into a mission of hope and transformation. Following the heartbreaking loss of his son, Sebastien Smoye Noisy, in Florida, the beloved media figure has deepened his commitment to his long-standing educational and social initiative, Lekòl Lavi—a “School of Life” dedicated to guiding, inspiring, and awakening the best in others.

The sudden passing of Sebastien sent shockwaves through Smoye’s family, friends, and admirers across the Haitian diaspora. Known for his compassionate spirit and ambitious dreams, Sebastien embodied a future full of promise—a bright light extinguished far too soon.

“I lost a son,” Smoye declared, “but I will not let his life—or life itself—fade into oblivion.”

The star of The Miracle of Faith added, “Sebastien believed in life—in dreams, discipline, and responsibility. We owe it to him to keep that flame alive.”

Lekòl Lavi, which translates to “School of Life,” is more than just a program—a movement. Founded initially as a mentorship initiative serving youth in Haiti and the Haitian-American community, it uses workshops, dialogues, conferences, and media content to address real-world challenges. Topics such as education, emotional health, human connection, and entrepreneurship are central to its mission.

Smoye Noisy—celebrated for his commanding voice on Haitian radio and memorable performances on screen—has long worn many hats. But now, in perhaps the most personal chapter of his life, he steps into a new role: a grieving father determined to turn pain into purpose.

“Our children are watching us,” he said. “If we don’t teach them to live—to face life, to understand, to build, to make decisions, to survive with dignity—who will?”

In honor of his son’s memory, Smoye is now expanding Lekòl Lavi to major cities with large Haitian populations, including Miami, New York, and Boston. He aims to bring the program’s message of growth, resilience, and purpose to an even wider audience.

The Haitian community has embraced his mission. Artists, educators, and professionals have admired Smoye’s strength and have pledged support for this new chapter of Lekòl Lavi.

“Sebastien is gone,” Smoye said, “but through Lekòl Lavi, every joyful and painful moment will continue to inspire and guide us toward greatness.”

Amid personal loss, Smoye Noisy’s unwavering dedication to Haiti’s youth and the broader diaspora is a testament to a father’s love and a leader’s resolve to uplift his people—one life lesson at a time.
